A clean vase, fresh water and a little attention: start with these simple habits, then ask us about care for your particular flowers.
1. Start fresh
Use a clean vase and fresh water. Remove all foliage that would sit below the water line.
2. Give stems a fresh cut
Trim stems with a clean, sharp tool before placing them in water. Recut stems when refreshing the arrangement.
3. Keep the water fresh
Follow the directions on commercial flower food. Check the water level daily, and replace the water every two to three days or sooner if cloudy. Clean the vase when refreshing the water, and remove fading blooms.
4. Find a cool, cozy spot
Keep flowers away from direct sun, heat, strong drafts, and ripening fruit.
Woody Branches
Give branches a fresh angled cut and place them promptly in deep, clean water.
Tropicals
Protect tropical flowers from cold temperatures and avoid placing them directly against ice or freezing surfaces.

Dahlias into fall
